Antenatal Shared Care in St George

 

The Antenatal Shared Care Program aims to provide a high standard of antenatal care for women who have a low risk pregnancy. The women arecared for by the Antenatal Services at St George Hospital in conjunction withtheir General Practitioner (GP).

The objectives of the GP Antenatal Shared Program are to:

  • Provide choice, continuity of care and accessibility for women

  • Enable registered GP’s to provide a high standard of antenatal care

  • Provide ‘Best Practice’ standard of antenatal care.

  • Reduce demands on the Hospital outpatient services.

Eligibility

 

To be a member of the Antenatal Shared Care Program a GP must:

  • Be a member or associate member of a Division

  • Fulfill the requirements for Registration

Registration

 

Registration for ANSC requires:

  • Current medical registration

  • Current membership of a medical defence association

  • Attend a Antenatal Shared Care Program orientation course

ANSC requires 12 POINTS of Division-delivered / endorsed activities for each triennium.
 

Cervical Screening

 

The St George Division of General Practice with support from the St George Hospital and Community Health Service has established a weekly Cervical Screening Clinic at Rockdale Community Health Centre

Target Group

Women up to 69 years of age living in the Rockdale and Kogarah LGAs, and/or who may be from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds and/or who have never had a Pap smear or have not had a Pap smear for over 4 years. 

Referral

Women may only access this service with a referral from their GP. The referral form needs to be faxed to the Division where staff will call your patient to make anappointment. An interpreter can be organised at the time of booking. Please seethe links below for resources.
