Links 2 Better Health

Links 2 Better Health is a group program that teaches parents and young people about healthy lifestyle choices. It is conducted over a 4 week period and provides education, resources and support to increase knowledge and skills addressing physical activity, healthy food choices and behaviour change.

A Dietitian and Exercise Physiologist will discuss:

  • Role Modelling:     Encouraging parents to lead by example

  • Portion Sizes:        Suitable serving sizes & food choices

  • Snacks:                  Healthy alternatives & regulating appetite

  • Activity:                 Getting started & common barriers

The program aims to:

1. Encourage parents & children to adopt a healthy lifestyle, which includes: 

  • Making healthy meal, snack and drinks choices

  • Participating in reqular exercise or active play 

  • Monitoring sedentary behaviour i.e. screen type activity

2. Promote role modelling and educate parents on the importance of a family orientated approach to initiate and sustain lifestyle changes

Please download and complete Referral Form then fax to 9585 2144. A staff member will contact parent to organise registration and notify of next availabel group

Getting Started
